Pitch and tempo
EasyPerformer can change the pitch and tempo of a track independently and in real time. Lower a song by a semitone for a singer, speed up a backing track that drags, or slow one down during rehearsals to practice a difficult section. You never need to re-export or re-import your audio: the original file stays exactly as it is.
Because pitch and tempo are adjusted separately, changing the tempo does not affect the key of the song, and changing the key does not speed the track up or slow it down.
Adjusting pitch and tempo
- Enter Edit mode and tap the pad you want to adjust to open Track Actions.
- Navigate to the second tab, Playback. Here you will find the pitch and tempo sliders.
- Drag the sliders to set the key and speed you need.
You can do this while the pad is playing: the changes are applied in real time, so you hear the result immediately and can fine-tune until it sounds right.
Saved with the pad, not the file
Pitch and tempo adjustments are stored on the pad, not on the audio file itself. If you use the same track in another pad, it plays at its normal pitch and tempo there.
This makes the feature very flexible. You could, for example, place the same song in three pads, each in a different key for a different singer, and switch between them instantly during a show.
Pitch and tempo on Android
On Android, pitch and tempo adjustments may need to be enabled first in the app settings.
